Here's the story Stephanie.
In September 2011 I was reunited with my best friend Dallon Wayne Durfey. He served an honorable mission in the Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Mission. He loved the people, scenery, food, and most of all, the gospel. He was able to bring the light of the gospel to so many people in search of the truth. He never ceased to amaze me with his humility, hard work, and rock solid testimony. It was truly amazing to see the change in him throughout the past two years. Of course he was the same crazy and funny Dallon that I met our freshman year at SUU, but he was being refined by being an instrument in the Lord's hands. I will always be grateful for his sacrifice to take two years out of his life to serve with all his might, mind, and strength.
We were able to meet the morning of the Saturday session of General Conference. My nerves got the best of me as we waited for his ride to arrive.....two years is a long time in case anyone was wondering. But I finally saw his ride approaching and I got butterflies....good to know that hadn't been lost with time. We got out of the cars and embraced....it was the hug of the century! Oh how I had missed this guy!! We then traveled up to General Conference side by side. It was like a dream being in the same car as him! I had thought about this day so many times before, but having it really happen was everything I had imagined and so much more!! We sat listening to the leaders of the church testify of our amazing gospel, on the seventh row from the pulpit mind you!
That first weekend was filled with happiness, nervousness, hugs, smiles, laughs, pictures, stories, and so much more. As the weeks went on, I just couldn't believe that he was home. To have him right next to me or just a phone call or text away, was so much better than having him on a completely different continent. It was a dream come true! With each passing day I grew more and more grateful to have Dallon in my life. Things were definitely not the same and it took awhile to get used to, but it all came back to us. We became the new and improved Dallon and Kaitlin. We still are dorks most of the time...and we still have 90% of our conversations in movie quotes, but there is something that is so much better. We don't have that huge road block ahead of us like we did in our relationship before he served his mission. We didn't know what would happen after two years because a lot can change in that time, but a lot can stay the same too. :)
Fast forward to this last week....we brainstormed throughout the week things to do for the weekend. Dallon had to work on Friday and I had to sub at the high school. I decided that I was going to go to basketball practice to help get in shape and by the time I got done, Dallon would be getting to Milford to spend the weekend. Right after I got changed and began to watch Glee with Nish, I got a call from Dallon. He asked what I was doing and then his phone cut out. I instantly got uptight and told my frustrations to my sister, how I hated talking on the phone and how his phone always cuts out because AT&T sucks. Then we decided to leave for practice....I walked out into the front room and saw Dallon's head pop out from behind the kitchen counter! What a sneaky punk!! I thought he wasn't going to be in Milford until much later! Oh and that wasn't all he had up his sleeve for the weekend little did I know!
We had been planning a trip down to St. George to see his sister Darci and I looked forward to Christmas shopping and seeing a play at Tuacahn. Just as a side note....back in 2009, Dallon bought me tickets to my first real concert, Boys Like Girls. They played at Tuacahn and it was one of our first official dates as a couple and I loved every minute of it! Anywho, needless to say, I was stoked to go back to Tuacahn to spend another date with Dallon.
We headed out bright and early and got to St. George. We decided to go to the mall first. I had quite the list, but oddly enough I wasn't my usual ornery self while we shopped. I just had a positive attitude about it all....I think it was a combination of the Christmas cheer and the fact that I had Dallon by my side, whatever the reason, I was in such a great mood. We walked by Fred Meyer....a jewelry store that Dallon found my favorite ring a couple of weeks before. (We had gone shopping a few weeks ago up in Provo) I was like, why don't we go in there and see if they have my ring. He found it quickly and I tried it on and was like yup, that's it. We put a diamond over it and I got all excited all over again. But then I had to remind myself to be patient, because I knew Dallon was still trying to work out the kinks to buy it. We got up to leave and Dallon asked if I wanted to look around to see if I liked something else and I said, why? I already know what I love and it is that ring I just put on. He seemed pleased and we continued on with our shopping.
It then became time to go meet up with Darci and her boyfriend Kelton. We went to her apartment and chatted while she got ready. She had to run into work for a bit before the play so we decided to just meet them there. Dallon said he was hungry so we went out to Ivans and found a place to get a shake. Dallon got a phone call and had to take it outside, so I sat there content with life...enjoying my shake and fries. I guessed it was one of his mission buddies talking about something random....that he would probably tell me about later when we weren't in public, which was fine. He then came in and said how we needed to get to Tuacahn to get our seats, I kind of got uptight because I had just started my delicious shake, but shook it off and went out to the car.
We headed out to the theater and as we turned I saw Darci and Kelton driving in the opposite direction and I was like where are they going? Dallon was like I have no idea! Let me call her....so he called her and he got done and said she left her camera at her house so she was going to meet her roommate at the main rode and then meet us at our seats. I said ok and we headed to the theater.
We parked and I debated on whether or not I wanted my jacket. Dallon insisted that I didn't need it. I got all huffy and said, ok, if I get cold I'm stealing your jacket then. He said okay and we headed down a walk way and made our way to to the box office. After having a week of practice and officiating basketball games I was so sore! I walk slow anyways because my legs are so short, so being sore did NOT help matters. Dallon kept pulling on my hand as we walked and finally I couldn't take it anymore, so I threw his hand away and let him race up the stairs. I was a little timid because it was completely deserted! Not a soul in sight, and I'm like Dallon how are we going to get tickets?? There's no one here? He was like I don't know where to go, let me call Darci. So I gave him my phone and he called while walking up a flight of stairs. We heard Christmas music playing and I got all excited for the play....Darci told us it was the one with "The Scrooge." Dallon got off the phone and said we had to go past the gift shop and past the amphitheater. In my mind I was like, they have two theaters here? That's cool. Then I saw the gift shop and pulled on Dallon's arm and said let's go to the gift shop!! Cuz I love me some gift shops :) He denied my request and I sulked for a minute. As we walked though the gates of the first amphitheater I saw a paper of the agenda for the holiday season. Everything I read wasn't starting until 7:30 or later and I was concerned. Dallon grabbed my hand and urged me past the sign and assured me that it was ok and that we needed to get to the other side because Darci wanted to sit on the opposite side of the gates. I looked out across the amphitheater and did not see a soul in it and was like Dallon! I'm sure we're going to get a great seat because it looks like we are freaking early. Let's just go to the gift shop for a minute. He instantly said no and kept dragging me toward the other side of the theater. Just then I looked up and saw a black platform covered in rose petals with two chairs....one that had a bouquet of flowers. I was like, Dallon, what are we doing here?? At that moment it hit me.....it was time! That trickster!! I forgot how to breathe. I forgot how to walk. Luckily, Dallon still had my hand in his and he led me up the stairs and faced me. He took my hands in his and he looked me in the eye and said, Kait, I brought you here on one of our first dates and I knew that I loved you so much and that I wanted to marry you someday. That is why I wanted to bring you here today to ask you to marry me. He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box and flashed me my ring! I gasped for air and covered my mouth, not really comprehending what was happening. He said, Kaitlin, will you marry me? Because I couldn't breathe, let alone talk, I just nodded and then let him put the ring on my finger. I wrapped my arms around him as tears filled my eyes. I had never felt more happy in my entire life. I squeezed him with all of my might and silently cried tears of pure happiness. Then he was like, oh and there's no play. haha!! Once I came to...and really understood what was happening I had a million questions! I got my camera out and documented everything and bombarded him with questions.
One thing about our relationships is that we suck at secrets and lies. Which is probably a good thing, but when it comes to surprising the other, we usually just end up telling the other one our plans because we can't take the secrecy! So my main thing was, how long have you been planning this?! How in the world did you keep it a secret!? He felt so much relief after the proposal took place because there were so many times something happened that had to do with the ring, or the proposal and he wanted to tell me but couldn't! I was soooo proud of him for keeping it a secret! I seriously had NO idea at all! It was perfect in every single way! So now, I get to introduce people to my fiancé Dallon....best thing....so far....until I can introduce him as my husband.
So there you have it folks....there's the story of how Dallon proposed to Kaitlin. It's down in the books :) I hope you all enjoyed it....because I know I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! Stay tuned for wedding details :) Also, my pictures aren't uploading, so if you want to see the photos of this event just go to my FB album, December 10, 2011 :)

Work. Sleep. Wedding. Repeat.
After going to a few stores we met up with Shanda and Maddix. We then headed to Gavin and Stephanie's reception. It was a beautiful set up in a gorgeous backyard. Everyone looked stunning in the line and I enjoyed the warm hugs from some of my most favorite people of the W.C. I'm not a hater of all the weddings I've been to. I absolutely love seeing the happy couples and their families.
Once we got done visiting, and by we I mean I.... had to catch up with all of my peeps real quick, we headed back to Fremont. I got a front row ticket to the Maddix Show. It was a riot. She is such a cutie.
When we got back to the Durfey residence I changed the dressing on my softball wound....my failed attempt at sliding during our last game. (I wasn't even safe so it wasn't worth it...but we did win the game so it wasn't all in vain.) Then we watched some tv and headed to bed. I was awaken by Darci yelling...Kait, I'm home! I sure do love that girl. We had a great chat about life and of course she kept me laughing through it all. She also introduced me to a funny show called Rita Rocks. Pretty sure I'm gonna start watchin this on Netflix.
It was a great vacation but had to come to an end bright and early this morning because I had to get to work in Cedar. So here I sit, typing away in the library. I can't help but to think about how grateful I am for the relationships I have with the wonderful people of Wayne County. I always feel the warmth and love every time I visit. And Michael semi-threatened me that I had to visit again soon...and not just in September. I assured him I would make a couple more trips before then.
So what are my plans for the rest of the night you might be asking...well I'm going to another wedding. When a friend of mine asked how my summer was goin I replied, well it's going great! I work, sleep, go to a wedding and repeat. I love the life I live. Oh and Cross Country starts next week! I am excited for the new season and arranged for some pretty spectacular motivation speakers for camp. So I have that goin for me, which is nice :)

Let the good times roll
This past week I had loads of fun! I worked my shifts at the good ole True Value and at the ELC. They both keep me busy with random things, but when it all comes down to it, I love serving people. I love that feeling I get when a person comes into the store desperately needing help finding something and a light clicks on and I know exactly where to take them. I also love it when people call the help desk searching for help and I am able to walk them through the problem. To put icing on the cake, after I am done helping and I wish them a good day, when they say it back to me and really mean it I am deeply touched. It is these small and simple moments that remind me why I am in the customer service business.
After I got done with work and with our weekly softball games....we lost both of our games this week :( But with Ryan's great tutelage, I was able to crank a few hits past the infield. It is going to take a lot of work but I decided that I'm in this for the long run, so why not improve my skills? I know I've already said this, but getting together with friends and family, sure make Thursdays a fun night! Jessica has been hiding her light under a bushel for awhile....we found out she plays softball! So we have already recruited her for next year.
Friday came and it became Idaho Road Trip Time! After what seemed like a brazilian years, we left home and headed north...to Alaska...ha jk....we headed to Idaho Falls. It was a fun ride complete with jam sessions, Dawson's Creek, sleeping...well Daezia slept, talking, eating, laughing, fights....and everything else that goes with traveling in a car for hours on end.
We got to the farm and were instantly engrossed in hugs, hi, smiles, and hey didn't I see you like a month ago? After we said our hellos, we headed to Bethia's Beauty Boutique. We got to visit with family as well as get beautified! I got my nails done by the amazing Brittany. I love our great chats and I especially like getting my nails done because it makes me feel extra pretty. We went well into the early morning, but it was all worth it...I could spend years in that place and not regret one bit of it.
The next morning we all got dolled up for the double wedding! I was able to do Teresa, Lillie, Kendra, Mom, and Nish's hair. Everyone was amazed by my skills. Kendra was adamant that I could NOT curl hair with a straightener and that her hair would NOT hold a curl. I proved her wrong and she ended up with her hair curled and looked beautiful.
With all of the weddings going on in my life and seeing how I haven't taken my endowments out....I decided to get a recommend to do baptisms. I hated being left behind while the adults got to go to the temple, so rather than just waiting around the temple grounds, I went and did baptisms. It was a wonderful experience and I made it out just in time to meet everyone else coming out of the temple.
I am so happy for Mitch and Beth!! Emily and Beth looked stunning in their dresses. Mitch and Derek looked very handsome in their tuxes. It was an amazing experience to see the love both of these couples have.
After that we went and ate with Aunt Diane and Bethia at Perkins....probably my favorite Idaho restaurant now. We had fun chatting and getting caught up with each others lives. Then we headed across the street to the reception. It was fun seeing everyone support Mitch and Beth as well as eat some yummy food.
The party didn't stop once the reception was over....we went back to the farm...a whole hop and skip over the road and partied it up. We played some intense volleyball...where I was able to get more acquainted with "the cool couple." Daniel and Coltin strutted up to the court and volunteered to be on mine and Nisha's team. Those games we played seriously had some of THE funniest moments of my life! Those guys kept us laughing all night! Granted I didn't play as well as I should have...because I was laughing so much...but oh well. I gave them great fuel for generating jokes.
Once we got done playing, we all headed inside for some family talk. There are constantly at least 5 different conversations going on all at once in one room. I was a wee bit tired from the long day so I just sat and listened to mom, Daniel, and Coltin's conversation. Then Nish and I played our favorite game....who's your favorite. It was a great time.
All in all, this road trip to Idaho was definitely a great one. I have decided that when I finally move up to Logan, I will definitely make the two hour trip to IDF probably every other weekend...ha as my funds will allow. I can't wait! Till next time Judys!

July is winding down.....
Anywho, a lot has happened since the last time I blogged. We began our co-ed softball league!! We have quite the roster and have won a game so far. We had a rocky start...coming off a year long break...but not to worry, we still had fun the first two weeks and look forward to the rest of the season. Last week I found myself feeling down and discouraged because I hated the saying life isn't fair. I felt mad because we as a team have held ourselves to a higher standard and yet we still can't win a game! But then I was reminded by my siblings that winning games aren't usually the way the Lord blesses because we choose the right. Talk about a slap in the face! I just have to remember to keep an eternal perspective. So from that moment on I decided to stay positive. We may not win a game all season, and we may not win the tournament, but who else gets to say that they get to gather with their family and friends and have tons of fun? And we get to do this on a weekly basis! This alone has reminded me to stay grateful for this tender mercy. Softball is definitely NOT my sport, but I took it upon myself to be the manager and give everyone high fives, smiles, and good lucks/jobs. So bring it on co-ed season!
Our roster is mainly made of Livingston, Spaulding athletes, but rounded out by some close friends and cousins. We are led by none other than the Tenacious Chief. He is the oldest person playing and you would never know it! He pitches every game and bats, not once calling for a pinch runner. The rest of the Jeeps Roster is as follows: Nish and Jeep, Koda and Mandi, Ryan, Kiana, Dalaki and Kayla, Amy, Devin, Dylan, Angie, Dave, and Jordan. With this bunch we have tons of fun! Maybe this year I'll actually get on base, rather than striking out, or getting thrown out at first! But when it all comes down to it, we are in this league to have fun and support our amazing town.
We had Koda and Mandi's wedding at the beginning of the month. We had a great time with family and friends on their special day. It was blistering hot down there in St. George, but Mandi looked beautiful and they both looked so happy! We had lunch at Mongolian and had a great time. Ryan and Jessica got to spend most of the day with us so it was fun. We then went to another lunch at Aunt Rhonda's. I sure do love my family a whole lot and enjoyed spending time with the ones that were able to come. The reception was beautiful and I had fun dancing with the younger ones. And yes, you heard me right...I actually danced...ha....they especially liked it when I twirled them around and around then dipped them. The night was topped off by going back to Rhonda's and having an epic game of Spoons. Kiana and I then drove back to M-town with the famous Melanie. We got caught up on life and had a great time of course. We even slept on the trampoline...it took us back to our childhood and we remembered some great times. Melanie then made me wonder when she said, "It is crazy to think how much our lives have changed since the last time we all spent the night out here." I looked up at the star lit sky and then over at Grandpa's house. My eyes filled with tears and longed for a hug from Grandpa. I nodded and said, "It sure is crazy to think about."
Some more highlights include, fun times at the hardware store. I really enjoy my co-workers and keep busy trying to help the customers. I am really bad at knowing what certain things are and where they are located, but slowly, I am finding my way around the store. I also like seeing friendly faces from around the community and helping people.
The ELC keeps me busy. This last week one of the website's programs were down and people went nuts! I swear I received close to 70 calls of people needing help. We finally got it back up and running and things went better. I just have to give a quick shout out to all of those people that have called in that were so nice to me. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can always hear the panic and confusion in people's voices, but the ones that keep it together and treat me with respect earn major brownie points with me! I appreciate the ones that sincerely thank me for the help and then wish me a good day. Those kind of people give me hope and make me grateful for the way I was raised...to treat people nicely. But I have to say...my biggest pet peeve about some of the callers are when a parent calls because their child is having a problem....I just want to tell them...ma'am or sir....let your child grow up and do their own dirty work. Let em live a little. But yeah, other than helping over the phone, I have been keeping busy by helping study abroad students from Austria! They have great accents and are so polite. It has been pleasant working with them.
This past weekend was an epic one. Nish, Dad, and I ran in the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon. We have only missed like two years since it started and we have loved it from the beginning. We get to see the gym rats...they are the brains behind the race...and we get to see random friends that the race brings in. We also made this a special weekend and made it into a road trip. We traveled on through Cannonville to Escalante, on to Boulder, then to Teasedale, and through the WC where we got our family portraits done by Faun Jackson!! It took a LOT of planning on my part, but we were able to pull it off! The Durfeys let us use their house to get ready for the pictures. They are so good to me! I haven't been to see them in awhile and I hugged them for a long time, remembering how much I missed them! I thanked them over and over again for letting us get ready at their house. They are seriously so nice! For the pictures we went into Loa for a few places and then went to Big Rocks to capture Faun's vision of us. It was great working with her. She had so much confidence in Kiana and I, so we were able to help in organizing it all. I can't wait to see what she does with the crazy indians! :)
Back to the Half Marathon....it went so much better than I expected!! I seriously have not been training like I should have and I was getting nervous about finishing in a decent time. Luckily, I had my trusty ipod and was able to take my mile splits as I ran. THIS SAVED MY LIFE! I put myself on a rather slow pace because I knew I could do it and as the miles went on, I kept cutting more and more time off each split. I was amazed at how great I felt with each mile. Multiple times throughout the 13 miles, I would look up and simply smile. I looked out across the amazing scenery and felt so grateful for not only the ability to run, but for the feeling I get when I run, the feeling of utter happiness. I know not everyone has this outlook and that is fine, I just feel blessed to have this love for running. I was taught this passion throughout my life by my father. After I finished my race I stretched for a bit, got some water, then headed back to find my dad and sister. As I caught a glimpse of the two I felt such gratitude for both of them. I look up to them in so many ways and running is at the top of my list. My dad is a champ. He may be over the hill by a couple years, but he has the knees of a 35 year old. And Nish, I have been chasing her best times my whole life and still find myself trying to be like her. As they finished the race I smiled as two of my biggest heroes accomplished something great. I am so grateful for them and for the person they have helped me become.
This week also has great promise in store....we're heading back up to Idaho for a double wedding for Mitch and Beth. No, it isn't my grandparent's wedding....it's William Mitchell and Sarah Elizabeth's wedding! I can't wait to see the fam again, and to road trip WITH Nish and the fam.
But for today I'll be working all the live long day in the ELC, reading, yes I said reading...I decided to re-read and finish The Work and The Glory series :) I will of course stumble, to find new crafts and recipes and I'll probably watch more JB videos :) Til next time..........
Oh and if anyone is wondering....the end of this month will mark TWO MONTHS LEFT until Dallon comes home...but hey...who's counting? :)

wOrK wOrK wOrK :) I.love.my.job.
A lot has happened since I last posted, even though it has only been a couple of days, they have been jam packed with awesomeness. I participated in a great cause, Relay For Life. It is very dear to my heart ever since we went through Tay's experience. Last year was our first time participating and I remember thinking to myself whenever I thought I walked too much or ran a little too far and grew weary, I thought of Tay. I thought of how strong she was through it all. With every step I took I dedicated it to her and her fight with cancer. (I really hate that word fyi) As I watched my cute little niece participate in the event this year, she still showed her strength. She laced up her running shoes, sported some Zac Effron shorts, and her tad bit over sized purple survivor t-shirt, and went to it. She amazed us all by going a little over 9 miles! I would be jogging along and look over and see her flying right by me leaving me in the dust. (She has great running form btw) She just kept going around and around the track running free. If you ask her about her cancer experience she will tell you her story in a matter of fact tone and all you can do is smile, cry, and listen to her words of wisdom. I sure do love my Tayleah Reese!
Anywho, I got the sod laid in my parent's front yard! I forgot my camera so I'll have to upload pictures next week of our handiwork. I also took on the living room redecorating task. Man it is a laboring process! I am trying my hardest to get it all put together before the wedding...ha...that is on Saturday, wish me luck!
Oh and just as a side note, I've decided to become a certified official for Utah High School Athletic Association! ha I'm pretty excited about it....well I'm excited for the money and for the opportunity to be in the gym :) So if I come ref in your town, please....be gentle. I signed up for Volleyball and Basketball, whoop whoop. So I have that goin' for me, which is nice.
I also started back up at the Hardware Store in Milford. I am working hard to remember everything that goes on in that place, but it is taking longer than anticipated. Maybe one day I'll be able to help at least one person that walks through the door and send them to the right aisle. ha...we all can dream right?
Oh and I have to give a shout out to one of my most favorite gals....Ashley HN! She came by the ELC earlier today and totally made my day! It is crazy how after a long amount of time of not seeing each other we can still sit and chat for hours. It is so awesome! I sure do love her!! I think we need to have a roommate reunion soon....just sayin.
OH MY!! I completely forgot! Ask me if I FINALLY watched Never Say Never...YUP!! It was all I ever hoped it would be and so much more. I came down with the sickness yet again...well I guess it never really left thanks to my CD purchases...I've got Beiber Fever! The doctors agree... It really was a great movie and I loved every minute of it. Now I'm on this acoustic kick and absolutely love it. JB did a couple of Usher and JT songs acoustically ....man do I love those Justins and Usher...mmmmmm
Anywho....I am really excited for this weekend because I get to see family :) But I'm also stoked to get a new sister!!! There's already six of us, why not add another one?! Mandi is so great and completes Koda so life is wonderful. I am so happy for them!! She asked me to be a bridesmaid and I was honored :) So yeah, this week is going to be great. I also found some recipes I'm going to try out on the fourth!! HOLLA! Thank you stumbleupon :) You seriously need to check it out if you haven't yet. It will change your life.
And remember, there's no charge for awesomeness.

Vacation all I ever wanted....vacation.... had to get away
So...... I have had one of the greatest times this past week. Why you ask? I got to road trip up to Idaho and spend one crazy and fun filled week with my family. But before I get to that I'm gonna update all of you on my summer thus far.
I have been spending my time working at SUU in the computer labs....I only have three shifts a week and still work more than I did during the semester....I LOVE SUMMER :) When I am at work I find time to catch up on my crocheting, blog, facebook....write goals/journal...but what I have been doing lately is stumbling. What is stumbling you ask? It is THE best website you will EVER use. My cute friend and co-worker Madison showed me a couple of weeks ago this amazing site. It is called stumbleupon.com. It is simple to use and it sure makes the time fly by!! All you have to do is sign up....usually through facebook...and click on your interests, then simply press stumble. It is that simple. My favorite recent finds have been craft websites...yummy recipes...funny videos....card tricks...and this website called jukesy.com. It is like youtube and pandora on steroids. It is going to be great in helping me get ready for Warped Tour in August!!

I have been workin hard in my parent's front yard this past month by weeding and today we hauled a couple of tons of dirt and ask me if the trailer is at the sod place as I type...YUP!! Ladies and gentlemen, The Tribe is FINALLY getting grass in our front yard!! I am completely stoked and can't wait for all of our hard work to pay off.
The next project I'm gonna take on is the front room and the kitchen...wish me luck cuz I'm gonna need it. The hardest part about all of it is making the decisions....I can do all of the other stuff just fine...but making decisions is the worst!! I'm just going to take one step at a time....so stay tuned for picture updates :)

Now back to my fun filled vacation! I loaded up my car because my mom's car had traumas the night we were scheduled to leave...come to find out the rear bearing was broken and we could have died!! Luckily daddio was lookin out for us and we were kept safe. I volunteered to take my car so we could get goin....have I ever mentioned that I am horrible at being patient? Well, I am. I hopped in the car with Mom, Daez, and Akaydeh. We had fun stopping in Provo to see dad and go dress shopping for the big wedding. We then headed up to the big I-D. We arrived just in time for the kick off party of the Judy Reunion. We watched a great video made my Taletha. I love my family so much and had a great time getting caught up with everyone.

There was a whole bunch of things going on throughout the weekend including talking with every cousin on the Judy side, family fun volleyball, service yard sale, getting my hair and nails done by the amazingly talented Bethia and her creative and spunky daughter Brittany, more talking with cousins, eating, holding babies, more talking, laughing, and a wedding! One of my closest cousins got married in the Rexburg Temple on Saturday. Tyler married Chyanne and it was so great seeing them in pure happiness. I also got to meet Mitch's finace Emily and Beth's fiance Derek. (They all passed the Kaitlin test btw.) I am so happy for all of them and I can't wait to got back up for their double wedding in July! We also stopped by Jeep's grandparents house. They are so cute!! They are so hospitable and loving! I am definitely putting them on my list of visiting peeps when I move up to Logan.

We decided to extend our vacation until Monday because I didn't have to work until today and neither did mom. So we took our time and said good bye to everyone....it was nice being the last ones to leave. I drove the whole way home and my car got great mileage!! We made a stop at the Swallow's new house in Tremonton and at my new favorite store IKEA....it is simply amazing and got me excited to redecorate and sech. We made it back to M-town just in time for MahLee and Daezia's softball game. I appreciate all of the people that put on the City Recreation....I am excited to see how these kids do in the future thanks in large part to them.
After the game Dad, Nish, Daezia and I went to run....there is something about running in the dark at the track that calms me. It reminds me of my childhood and for that short amount of time I go numb and all I think about is running. It clears out my stress, my fears, my uncertainty, and so much more. I felt great and ran for six miles. It was pretty much amazing.
So that is what has been happening in my life lately. I keep it simple and real. Til next time....

Hey, remember me?? That one girl that has a blog
As you can probably already guess, I survived Spring 2011. At the beginning of the semester it was lookin unpromising and I stressed myself sick....but I just took one step at a time and finished the semester with style. I got all A's except for dumb chemistry, but hey at least I passed it on my first try! Kiana and I moved safely back to Milford, boy does she know how to pack a car, complete with Betty ridin' on top! We had a blast staying at Jessika's house...well they had a blast, I was pretty much a zombie because of my work schedule. But nonetheless, we had a great time and I am so grateful for Jessika and her hospitality.
May came just about as fast as it went! I filled up my time with track practice and meets, babysitting, and more babysitting the cutest kids EVER, watching a new favorite series, ABC family style. It is called Wildfire. Nish got me hooked on it, but it didn't take much. I absolutely LOVE horses and there are cute guys on it....so what's not to like?! I also helped out at the high school by being a substitute and a supervisor for M-Day. I was devastated when I got word that the seniors would be repainting the M on the water tower. I have been so proud of my class' design since we redesigned it back in '08. But fate played a hand in our game that day....it rained on and off so they weren't able to paint it after all. So our artwork remains on the M!!
Track was fun as usual. I just hate when people think they know more about the sport then our coaching staff. It bugs me to no end!! But it happens in every sport, so I just have to rise above and focus on the reason why we coach, we are there for the kids. Every year we have a team dinner either before the Region 20 Meet or before State and we try to get a motivational speaker to come inspire the kids to do their best. My dad had a mishap so I was elected to give a speech. I found some great quotes that I thought might help inspire them.
"A coach is someone who tells you what you don't want to hear, who has you see what you don't want to see, so you can be who you have always known you could be."
"I tell our runners to divide the race into thirds. Run the first part with your head, the middle part with your personality, and the last part with your heart."
Growing up I have always had a desire to be a coach. My dad has allowed me to pursue this dream. Whenever I think of the coaches I've had throughout my life I can't help but feel ever so grateful for each one of them. I would not be the person I am today without each coach that I've had. With my dad, sister, and brother in law being coaches, I have seen the countless hours they ponder, strategize, and contemplate about each and every athlete they have. I see the compassion they have for each one of them and it has instilled in me a desire to want to help athletes become the best the can be, just like all of my coaches did for me. Calling someone Coach is a very proper way to address someone, in my opinion. I hope to become at least half the coach my dad is, if I can do that I will feel accomplished. I want to be able to walk down the street years and years from now and have one of my former athletes greet me with the the title Coach and know that I had a little part in inspiring them for the good at one point in their life. So on that note, I will tell you of my future plans...
Remember how I said that I was going to Utah State in the fall? Well, that isn't going to happen. Because of hearing the news about officially cutting my program at SUU at the end of March, I was late applying to USU, which caused me to be accepted later than most, which then put me even farther back in registering. So by the time I went to register for all of the classes I needed to take, they were full the max. So my hopes and dreams of becoming an Aggie were rushed to an abrupt halt. I went through weeks of trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life and it stressed me out to the max. Then one day I just made a decision. I am going to wait until the spring to become an official Aggie, that way I can apply for scholarships and get into the classes I need. I will have about four semesters there and then graduate I hope....so that is comforting! I just didn't see the point in moving to Logan in August and then stressing over trying to find a job when I wasn't going to be taking any classes. So I am going to live at the Tribal Headquarters and help my dad coach cross country. I will also help at the school by making bank as a substitute teacher.
Once I finally made a decision all of my anxiety and stress went away. I finally am excited to live my life! I don't know what it is about school and such, but it stressed me out way bad....so it will be nice to just work, save money, and help my parents out. If you want to judge me for "staying in Milford" or "taking a break from school" cuz I can't hack it, go ahead...I LOVE IT THERE and the spring will come soon enough. For right now I am just going to live my life for me and I am okay with that.
But summer has finally arrived and I couldn't be more excited...to soak up the sun, but not too much cuz I don't want to get skin cancer (trust me, I'm serious....if you want more deets shoot me a text or give me a call) I also am helping my parents by landscaping the front yard....about time right?? ha I also am going to redecorate some rooms. I will be working at the college and perhaps the hardware store :) I also have a brazilian weddings to go to this summer including Koda and Mandi's!! I also am taking a few institute classes in Cedar....today I went for the first time and had two amazing lessons, thanks to Brother Rau and Brother Staples...I sure love the gospel!
Anywho....that is about all I have to say to catch up on my life...I have started to crochet again...just sayin...and yeah life is great!! Til next time...keep it real. Oh and I got to catch a basketball game in The Centrum today before my shift started...could life get any better???

FiNaLs WeEk....WhAt??? Already??
Kiana and I have started packing up our things so we can move out this weekend, rather than paying for an additional week when we don't really have the need. We are going to have a week long sleep over with our pal Jessika next week while we go through finals.
I just finished my last quiz for chemistry!!! I am totally stoked to be done with that class soon! All I have left is the final....prayers are much appreciated ;) Chemistry is NOT my thing, but I have to take it for a pre-req for the FACS Ed program. Lame I know.
As for the rest of my classes, culinary arts came to a close today. We had our last lecture today after our weekly quiz. Cindy did a lecture on preparedness. It really got me thinking about food storage, emergency kits, etc. I really want to be better at this and take initiative. Kiana always talks about getting things started but I just brush her off and don't worry about it. But with all of the disasters happening I really need to get my behind in gear and get prepare. Anywho, after our lecture where she gave us a parting gift, I got a fridge thermometer. Awesome huh?
I then went to my last culinary arts lab and it was a bitter sweet moment. I never thought this day would come, to be done with those labs. My partner David Whitmore and I worked hard and efficiently. We were the first done with our cleaning, so I went over and helped a fellow classmate. But once I walked out that door I felt a great feeling of accomplishment and relief.I learned a lot don't get me wrong, but I have been so ready to be done with that class. I walked to my car with THE biggest smile on my face after being dismissed. Success.
For nutrition I only have one more lecture and then the final.....I'm not stressing over this one because I get the material and I know I will do great if I study. So that's what I'll be doing all this week. Matt has been a great teacher. I have enjoyed taking this class from him. It has been much more enjoyable than the last class I took from him my freshman year. I'm a little more mature and a little more focused, so things have been going smoothly in his class. I have a better attitude this time around and he makes each and every class entertaining. We start out with a video clip from youtube or something that has nothing to do with nutrition. It just brings a smile to our faces bright and early Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I have to admit that I almost switched my major to nutrition because of Matt and his enthusiasm for it.
My marriage class is almost done as well. I am finishing up some studying for the last exam. I luckily was NOT a procrastinator and wrote all of my required papers well before the due dates, so I only have one thing left. Go me! There's a first time for everything!
And last, but certainly not least, my child guidance class. I have one more lecture and then a final, which is going to be cake because it isn't comprehensive, AND we get to use our notes. I already wrote all of my journals that account for 28 hours in the preschool and I wrote my three page philosophy paper. I love when I get things done and don't procrastinate! Karen Houser is an AMAZING teacher. I have learned so much from her this semester. I also award her THE best dressed at SUU. I haven't seen her wear anything twice....pointed out to me by Kiana. I made a mental note each day to see if I had seen any part of her outfit before. The only thing I found that she wore more than once, was her wedding ring...which she wore everyday. And she is so trendy it amazes me....when I get older I want to be like her :) great teacher, great wardrobe.
So that's my life in a nutshell. Seeing how my lab got out early I get to party it up on this Tuesday night! I'm gonna go wake up Kiana from a nap, watch some Glee, hit up Taco Tuesday with my peeps, pack, and just enjoy my amazing life :)

I've got the fever .....
So after I couldn't find the movie, I was like now what am I going to do? I decided to get the next best thing....some CD's. Usually I don't just go and buy CD's because I usually just listen to youtube at work or to mix CD's I make, or to an ipod. But after a lesson on honesty a few Sunday's ago, I decided that I would make a valiant effort to not "steal" songs anymore, so I bought me some new CD's. And not just any CD's. I bought JB's remix collection and his acoustic collection. BEST INVESTMENT I have made in a long time. As I sat in my car on the way down to the temple today I thought to myself, man I do A LOT of driving. So I popped in my CD's and headed down the highway, lookin' for adventure. :)
I am so amazed by any artist that can play an instrument, write and sing songs, so when I found out JB can sing, write, and play multiple instruments, I was instantly sold on his music (and I secretly wanted his bangs before he got a hair cut) As I was checking out of Walmart, the cashier grabbed my items and looked at me in disbelief and said, Justin Bieber? Really? I fought with myself in my head wondering if I should just own up to it, or lie and say it was for my little sister. So I looked at him and said, Yeah, you betcha! I don't deny it, I own it! He smiled and said, wow! You are awesome. I get a lot of people that try to lie about it saying it is for their sister, but I can totally tell they're lying. But not you, you totally owned it! You go girl. (If that didn't make my whole day I don't know what else would!)
So if you pass by while I'm cruisin along in my automobile,
rest assure that I am probably jammin to my man JB. :)

Start with what you know
This class discussion happened about a year ago and yet I can still remember it as if it was just yesterday. If you know me then you know that I like to be organized and that I like to know what I am doing, where I am going, and how I am going to get there. So this whole business of changing schools, places to live, jobs, and maybe even marital status, has got me stressed to the max. My mind starts thinking about one thing, then another, then another. Then I just have to put my running shoes on and run my anxiety and stress out. It wasn't until yesterday that I remembered Brother Gudmunson's advice....start with what you know.
So that is what I am going to do. I know that I am a daughter of my Father in Heaven and that I am never alone. I know that he is always there for me, much closer than I think at times. I know that I have a family that loves and supports me in all of my decisions. I know that if I will trust in the Lord he will direct my paths. I know that wherever I go and whatever I choose to do, someone in Brazil loves me and will support me in whatever goals I set for myself. I know that by sincere prayer and faithfully studying the scriptures I can receive tender mercies from my Father in Heaven. I know that I want to study Family and Consumer Sciences because it is so very important to me. I know that I want to become a teacher and change lives like Ira Mitchell Fisher. I know in order to do this I am supposed to transfer to Utah State. I don't have all of the answers as to why's, but I just know that that is where I am supposed to finish my degree. So with all of those things that I know, I have taken them and have found peace in my decisions.

Where has March gone????
I had thrown Trista a bridal shower a couple of weeks earlier with the help of Becky and Ky. It was fun to be together again as well as make things awkward for Trista and the guests...it was great!
After I got done at the reception I hopped in the car with Daez! We road tripped to Wayne to spend time with the Durfey's. Also, one of Dallon's best friends just got home from his mish. So we hit up the wonderful Loa Ward. We got to sit by the Brown family that I love and I got to see so many friendly faces and feel like I was at home. Like usual, I had a great time chatting it up with Sharon and Michael Scott and getting a hug from Durc. Also,, The Laughing point was at it's finest in the Wayne County Insider!! Daezia and I watched some March Madness with Michael Scott and I am still shocked that there are an 11, an 8, a 3, and a 4 seeded team in the final four!! Man do I LOVE basketball!!
This past week has come and gone in a blurr. Kiana and I both were not having the greatest few days so we decided to wash all of our sorrows away by buying a delicious ice cream cake from DQ and it read "FML!" Because that is exactly how we were feeling! Don't we live the greatest lives??
I also have decided to take a couple classes over the summer online. I need a chemistry and math class for pre-requisites once I go to Utah State, so I figured why not just take them and get them over with while I work one last semester at THE GREATEST JOB EVER. It also helps justify my action of taking the fall semester off. (I'm going to be working in Milford, saving up and preparing for the move to Logan and I look at it like the fall will be my summer :) Oh and if anyone is wondering, this week marked the 6 month countdown until Dallon comes home! :)
Yesterday when I came to work I was blessed by numerous tender mercies. I was studying for my dreaded Chemistry test and a fellow coworker and friend came to study with me. I usually don't like studying with other people, but for some reason I kept that to myself and agreed to study with her. Man did we get a lot done! I hate chemistry and don't understand it a lot of the time, but when we were working together I found myself knowing how to set up problems to solve them. It really was so amazing!
Then after my cute friend left, another friend came to chat. I had been throwing a pity party for myself all day and just wanted it to be all over. But then I started talking to my friend and realized, no matter how hard you think your life is, someone always has it worse than you. I found myself being humbled and felt nothing but complete love for this beautiful friend. I assured her of her worth and value and we left that night having such a stronger friendship. She has taught me so much and I am grateful for her example and fun loving spirit. Man am I going to miss these two great girls!!
Another person I am going to miss is one of my best friends. I know I usually want to light her on fire most days, but when it all comes down to it, I love her with all of my heart. The day she told me she was going to come to SUU my heart shouted for joy. I know that she has not had the best luck with SUU, but I believe she came to Cedar because she was an answer to my prayers. We get in tuffs about every minute, but after I have calmed down, I thank my father in heaven for having her here at SUU with me. I know she will ALWAYS have my back and will do anything to protect her lil sis. She is such a great person and I love her dearly. The decision to live our own lives when I move up to Logan will be a hard one to swallow, but I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I have had to live with my best friend Kiana Don. There are no words to describe just how much I will miss her.
I'm sure I'll think of a long list of the things I will miss and the people I will miss, so stay tuned for some tributes here and there in the months to come. Till then, stay excellent.

SUU to USU..... :S
I waited in line to talk to her. When it was my turn to go in she said she had talked to her people and as it turns out there was no way that I could finish my degree here at SUU. It was weird, at that moment I felt so calm and relaxed. I then said words that I had never thought before, "So I will take the few classes I can here and then transfer to Utah State." Those words came out of my mouth and I just remember feeling so very calm about the whole situation and I left feeling confident that everything would be okay.
The rest of the day I just knew that things would work out and the words of a familiar hymn came to my mind, "I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord." I then broke the news to my family via-text because I didn't trust my voice and then to my facebook friends. With each comment I just knew I was doing the right thing and that the Lord would bless me. However, as I have learned throughout my life, change is constant.
I woke up the next day feeling doubtful, nervous, sad, distraught, and everything else you can think of. All of the possibilities weighed my mind throughout the day. I would think of my future plans and that would make me think of something else, and it just all hit me so very hard.
But I still had classes that I had to attend. I completely choked on a major chemistry quiz, then in my culinary arts class I felt stressed for the lab that would follow. A bread lab that would take a long time to complete, and to add to my stress level, Kiana and I decided to throw a surprise party for Dalaki.
For those of you that know me well, you know that I CANNOT lie. I simply suck at it! So every time I would see Dalaki it would take everything in me not to tell him about the people that were coming and everything. It stressed me out! But it was all worth it in the end. Even after a delayed arrival time that was caused by his dumb dance teacher, we were still able to have a great time, which helped ease most of my stress. But yet again, all those feelings of doubt and confusion crept into my mind the following day.
Seeing how I am now the big two-one, I had to renew my license and let me tell you, the lady at the office was NOT very friendly. But what can ya do? I DO NOT envy her job. Also, I found out another office was closed so that made me mad because I went out of my way to find it out in BFE. So needless to say Wednesday did not provide me with anymore comfort. Except the wonderful hour I went to institute where we talked about preparing for General Conference and I am looking forward to it because I have many important decisions to be made.
I then made a trip to Milford to help with track practice. It was nice being able to see my family and vent to them about the frustrations I was having. Nish gave me some ideas and some advice which helped out a ton. And I made a quick stop to see the kiddos. Man are they adorable!! They bring so much happiness into my life. But then I had to go back to Cedar and go back to reality.
Bad thing after bad thing just keeps happening and I just want to give up. But then I have to remember, all things in life that are worthwhile don't come easy. So that is why I have chosen to transfer to Utah State. I know that I am studying the field that I am supposed to being studying. I have prayed and prayed about this decision and the confirmation reoccurs with each prayer. I want to be a teacher, I want to be like Grandpa Fisher and make a difference in people's life and so that is what I am going to do. So this will be my last semester at SUU. (Don't worry, I will ALWAYS bleed red! Even if I am an Aggie.) Even though leaving Cedar will be indescribably hard for me, I know that it is what I am supposed to do. I still have so many details to work out, but I just know that I don't have to do this on my own. I have my family, my friends, and most importantly I have my Savior's grace to get me through this challenging time. Once I know more about when I will move and exactly what my plans will be I will definitely let everyone know. But thank you all for your thoughts and concerns. A quote I found that helps explain all of this craziness is:
"If God sends us on strong paths, we are provided strong shoes."
Oh and another thing getting me through this stressful day....JIMMER TIME tonight. Thank you basketball for yet again providing me with solace.

MaRcH!!!

The first week of March is infamous because it is the 1A state basketball tournament and for those of you who know me oh so well, you know that I absolutely LOVE basketball! I like to think that I was born during this epic week and month because of my passion for the great sport.
As I grew up, I had the opportunity to go with my parents each year to the tournament because it was my birthday! It was during those years that I learned to loved this game. I loved the intensity each game brought. I loved being in the stands with hundreds of other fans cheering on the Milford Tigers as well as fellow Region 15 teams, some more than others ;) .
I practically counted down the days until I could be one of the elect to actually be on the court and play with a jersey of my own as a freshman. I worked hard everyday at practice and during the off season to become a better player. Although my short four years did not turn out like I had hoped for, I learned many life lessons. And now as I am going to college, I find great joy in traveling to the games to cheer on my little sister as well as our hard working Tigers. Some may find my passion a ridiculous obsession, but oh well! There is just something about hearing a basketball hitting a gym floor, or swishing through the net, that gets inside of me. I could watch or play basketball everyday of my life and be completely content! No joke! So this month of March is complete madness! It starts out with the state tournament and continues with my birthday, then the NCAA tournament! Hands down, March is my favorite month of the entire year! So for the rest of the month you will probably see me decked out in my basketball shorts, (weather permitting), t-shirt, and kicks that define me as a basketball junkie...don't judge! Just smile and wave :)
February came and went with many happy experiences. I got to spend a lot of time with my family and I loved it! I loved being able to spend quality time in a small vehicle traveling to countless games. I am so grateful for the love and relationships I have with each of my family members. I don't know where I would be without them.
I also was able to spend some quality time with my friends and my cousin Melanie! I went to Corinne's Bridal shower in BFE, aka West Jordan, and then Kiana and I partied with Mel the rest of the weekend. It was filled with games, that I mostly won, ice cream, talking, youtube, Grey's, church, Texas Roadhouse, and shopping! (I was in the mood to shop, who knew that would ever happen?!)
February was also filled with a lot of basketball tournaments....Region and State Girls, and Boy's Region. All had intense games that kept us gym rats entertained. Boy's state was good, but it did NOT turn out like I had hoped, and I went into a funk for quite some time, but bounced back just in time for March Madness to start up again.
So yeah, I am doing great and loving life! I am keeping busy with work, school, and more school. I also just got hooked on a new show on ABC Family....

Make it or break it. It is AMAZING! I may or may not want to marry Damon Young...

so sue me! If you haven't watched it I highly recommend you start. And if you have...why haven't we analyzed it together yet? Until next time...stay excellent!

January Jollification
Just for any clarification, jollification is a word, it means jolly festivity, in case you were wondering. Anywho, here is a post dedicated to January 2011…..it was quite an eventful month, but overall, it was a GREAT month!
After we got done eating, we decided that we weren’t done with our time in Mesquite. So we hopped on over to the Virgin River to go bowling! Jeeps had a great night…getting FOUR strikes in a row! I also stepped up my game and beat Kiana…always a pleasure. We also were lucky enough to hit up cosmic bowling! It was amazing!
After the bowling fun, we still hadn’t had enough so we hit up the arcade. The Faj hit the jackpot on one of the games and got us a butt load of tickets! Dalaki also had skills on some Sonic the hedgehog game. Seeing how Kiana, Dalaki, and I have wised up a bit in our older years, we decided to put all of our tickets together and get pretty much everything we wanted. This was quite the accomplishment for all of us. When we were younger we would always go play at the arcade, but were too selfish and kept our own tickets and could barely get one prized possession. Not this time around! We were like little kids picking out each prize…weighing out the options…and of course, Kiana and Dalaki both asked for my permission before they made a purchase. It was seriously a childhood dream come true!! With every purchase, we all felt cooler.
We finally decided that we should hit the road and get back home. However, luck was not with us that night. We got TWO flat tires! Luckily, we were all together, and were able to make the best out of it. It was FREEZING while we waited, but the camo twins weren’t disheartened much by the cold. One of my personal faves of the night was a picture of me standing next to a reflector pole on the freeway. They look so much shorter when I’m driving by them at 80 MPH… I mean 75.
February is now upon us and I was able to start out with a great par-tay! It was Ashley’s birthday on the first, so we helped celebrate with some old roomies and new friends. We played spoons and got caught up with one another. It was so great spending some quality time with the ole roomies. They are all such great examples to me! I love them! Even if they are all married or engaged. They are awesome! Oh, and for some reason, on our way out, Kiana grabbed our remote and had it in her jacket until she noticed it at the party. So she slipped it into my purse when I wasn’t looking…she is such a little sphincter.
Today I was able to watch my lil cheerios cheer and Daezia’s basketball game! Aren’t they so adorable?? They get better with each performance….but hopefully they are getting all of that cheering out of their systems so once they get into high school they can focus on the real deal…sports.
That’s pretty much it for me this time. I am doing well here in Cedar. I keep busy with work, school, and crocheting. (I’ll have you know…I’ve sold roughly 12 hats at $10 a pop….slowly but surely I am on the road to savin up some money.) I am doing my best to keep a smile on my face….while deep down I really really don’t like school…but oh well. It will be over before I know it. Then I’ll have to be a real grown up. AHHH!!
